Mpeg2 Codec and opengl

I would like to know whether it is possible to display video output of an mpeg2 codec using Open GL?
Are there any standards maintained for such codecs

As for displaying it, look at nehe.gamedev.net, he shows how to display avi and you should be able to adopt the method
