Ok I am tired of Microsoft and want to try Solaris 10 because is free ( also the basic developement tools ). The questions are:

1) Has ATI Solaris 10 drivers(nvidia has, i saw it) ? All I see are windows/linux/mac os drivers? Can I use the linux one in Solaris 10?

2) How I initialize an OpenGL window in Solaris 10? In the same way that a Linux one using GLX?

thx

Hi,

I wasn't tired of Microsoft but I installed Solaris 10 too (: It's a very cool O/S

1/ I don't think that ATI has released solaris 10 drivers. I'm an nvidia customers so i can't help you but, you could check if a ATI customer forum exists like nvnews (independent from nvidia but extremely associated), then ask if solaris 10 drivers exists, or suggests to develop one.

2/ Yes it's pretty similar, more information here.
opengl on sun solaris (http://www.opengl.org/documentation/implementations.html) . As you can see the link is broken, i signaled it, you can try this
search results on sun website (http://onesearch.sun.com/search/onesearch/index.jsp?col=products-software&qt=solaris+opengl+)

There another solution. As you know Sun recently released OpenSolaris, maybe the opensource communauty will release drivers..

Opensolaris web page (http://www.opensolaris.org/os/)

hope that helps.
