This question is naive,but I wonder why can't opengl be run under java?

Yes, there is a openGL for java.
I don't have a link, but search this forum and you will find it.

Yes. Go to sun website and look for java3D.

Java3D is not OpenGL!!
Java3D is a scene graph API, OpenGL is an immediate mode API, thats completely different.
