Stereo Imaging..and lighting HOW TO?

HI! I am supposed to do a lab project by which it involves one stationary ball and a bouncing ball in a wire cube. I am to produce this part:
When the button 'L' is pressed the lighting comes on and when 'S' is pressed the stereo image appears on the screen.
I hope to receive some links on tutorials that can teach me this.Thanks alot for reading.

to find an example how to do stereo rendering in opengl.

You can turn off lighting by using GL_LIGTHING.
