im making a sailing game atm and i wanna make a model for the yacht but i dunno which type to use.
i want to have, if possible, a flapping sail animation.
So what have ppl found that works for them??

I am assuming you want a file format and you are going to make the model yourself? If so choose .3ds because it supports animation.
i'd prefer md3. it's a nasty bunch of bytes, but it's only widely supported format supporting attaching of models (maybe not but i think so http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/wink.gif). so you could make static part as one model and attach animations as separete models (i think most of your verices will be static, anyway)...

cool, right where can i get tutorials on 3ds model loading and handling the animations, and how to make the buggers aswell http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/smile.gif
