Hi,

I've found a paper from NVIDIA for using S3TC compression.
It's works well !

The reason it looks so bad with DXTC1 is because of a hardware bug that has been in all nVidia hardware since the original GF. I'm still confused as why they don't fix it. On all non-nVidia boards the DXTC1 pic would look identical to DXTC3.
