OpenGL for CD-ROM-based 2D Animation??

I need to create a CD-ROM 'edu-tainment'
(half game, half instructional) product.

Is OpenGL an appropriate graphics library?

Is there something more appropriate?

Try using allegro at: http://sunsite.auc.dk/allegro/index.html

Really easy to use, portible, and plenty of documentation. Pretty much aimed at 2d graphics game programming

Using OpenGL for 2d is like using a tank to kill a mouse. It's waaaaaay overkill, and it doesn't even work as good as some other things might http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/smile.gif
