tentacle-like vectors

Hi there gents :-)

I would like to know how to code some vectors which would look like tentacles... Dunno how to explain it more, it's an effect that I see in quite some demos... Like 6 tentacles going from a center to each direction, with waves on them...

Any link to an explanation is welcome, thanks in advance mates ;-)

Use spline curves, you get nice smooth curves.
