getting started -- help

Hello world,
i'm learning openGL with C for my comp graphics module. I use Mandrake 8 at home and really want to be able to do my labs at home. Can you please explain how to get the libraries (where from, how to install), so that i can start compiling my labs. Also is there any hardware restriction? Or any simulator that will allow opengl to work.

You should be able to compile your labs if you have mesa-dev installed. I think that the graphic card driver was installed with X for non nvidia card. Nvidia has perhaps the best linux support and drivers are available from their web page.
