I have a big problem about Half-Life CS

Can somebody tell me why I have a Problem when I start Half-Life CS there is a window who said that I must install DirectX 6.a,but I have the new version of DirectX (8.0)
Is it true that I must have the old version (6.a)?

No, I am using DirectX 8.0 with Windows 2000 fine, and people are using it with Windows 9x fine. Did you buy the retail Half-Life: Counter-Strike package?

Try reinstalling DirectX 8

I had that same problem just after I installed directX 8. Im using winME, all I did was restarted my comp and it went away.You could try running all the directX tests or reinstalling the game.
