error message during direc 3D test

I received an error message during my direct 3D test on step hardware-accelerated direct 3D 8 interfaces " HRESULT = 0x8876086a ( 3D not available ), but it successfully proceed on direct3D 7 & 9 interfaces. Man!!! why would this happen?

whats ur videocard?

its probably in the driver, try clean installing driver.

I used to have a voodoo 3 w/ 3rd party driver which ruined everything and crashed.
