Jedi Academy -Refresh rate stuck at 60hz

Anyone know how to set a higher refresh rate For Jedi Academy, I've already tried
adding the -refresh 85 switch but no good.
Is there another way to set it? My eyes Can't take it any more.

XP pro
Geforce4 4600Ti
Latest Vid Driver 6.14.10.4523

The string should be r_displayrefresh 85
and then do a restart as follows
vid_restart.
This worked great for me on all quake3 engine driven games.:}
