Purchased a brand new Gateway because I was tired to having installation problems with games. Now have Alice and cannot get it to work because the standard Video card provided by Gateway which is an integrated Intel 82815does not support GL Setup. Is there any way I can get this game to work without having to purchase and install a new video card? A patch or fix??
Please help - Alice is calling my name.
This is so exasperating !!!

Same problems with Alice, here...
Here I have this new P4 with more then twice the required speed and power in both processor and graphics AND I am Dead in the Water... Quake 2 is not a problem, but Alice and that Quake 3 Engine aparently IS???

Guys, these integrated video chips are NOT TRUE VIDEO CARDS.

They lack the power of today's LOW END video cards.

They are designed for internet browsing and general business applications -NOT- gaming.

... For our OpenGL Professor Uh,,, I ran glview against my card, above and HERE's what I got... (PS... It also has over 50 percent of the OpenGL1.2 commands and RUNS all of the cube tests, just fine... Curious... No??? http://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/ubb/smile.gif

Okay, Alice should play with a 32 ram Nvidia TNT card. I know it plays on the integrated chip but not sure which ones. If you have 32 ram card it should play. Computers built recently generally have at least 32 ram on it which shares with your systems memory. I played Alice on a 500 intel with a 32 ram TNT PCI card. Though I have upgraded since then. I had 384 memory though it is overkill but...what can I say. But that was on 98SE. I play it on XP with higher components now. I have installed it on several people's computers which have (the demo that is) 32 ram on the card. It worked fine. NOLF2 did not.
